My Story
My small, local art career started when I had a fantastic idea of painting our neighbors' majestic cat, Mango! I was full on the idea of him being framed in watercolor, having his fur blend on out the canvas.
He roamed our neighborhood in Kula, Hawai'i, with his chin up and surely looked like a king. He constantly invited himself indoors while he quietly lounged on our chairs. I would observe how elegantly he moved and how smooth his tail would flow. I wanted to depict his unique character on paper. When his portrait was done, I was encouraged to paint more animals, and I was fascinated with the idea of rendering every animal's unique personality, each and every time.

Before all this, I had been mentored by Michael Clements, a renown artist in Hawai'i, but also our neighbor and family friend. Two days each week after school, he took me to beautiful landscapes around the island of Maui, and we painted the sceneries. He gave me many books on shading and proportions so that even when I moved away to Greece, I could still teach myself more, and that's how I began to try different styles until I found my favorite so far, animal portraits - which are displayed on my Instagram, @ariartspaintings
I'm the Artist to take your favorite pets and let their personalities shine on a canvas! I have had a great deal of artistic experience with various media, especially doing landscape work with my mentor, Michael Clements. I initially focused on watercolor portraits of animals when I had been playing around with them, and quickly found my style.
